Terri FiezColleagues and friends,

I鈥檓 pleased to present you with this collection of highlights from听the University of Colorado 色吧亚洲鈥檚 research and creative work in听2018鈥19.

This year鈥檚 stories鈥攁 cross-section of the trailblazing research,听scholarship and creative work taking place across CU 色吧亚洲鈥斕齛re as innovative and fascinating as ever. In the following pages,听you鈥檒l learn about our contributions to the largest Central Arctic听expedition ever, the first U.S. mission to return samples from an听asteroid to Earth, and new hope in the battle against antibiotic-resistant听鈥渟uperbugs,鈥 just to name a few.

And there鈥檚 another story that merits special attention this year.

I鈥檓 thrilled to announce that the university has again attracted a听record amount of research funding, this year drawing an incredible听$631 million. This marks the third year in a row the university has听attracted more than half a billion dollars in research funding and听represents a 23 percent increase over the previous year.

The story of this new research funding milestone wouldn鈥檛 be听complete without calling attention to the people who make it all听happen. From our globally renowned geosciences faculty and听our Nobel laureates in the physical sciences, to our graduate听students听in aerospace engineering and the arts, our faculty,听staff and students are the fuel that powers everything we听accomplish together.

Here鈥檚 to another year of discovery, invention and collaboration听to change our world for the better.

I hope you enjoy these stories.

Warm regards,

Terri Fiez
