Thanks to our generous supporters who share in this belief, we offer over 60聽scholarships to help students achieve their dreams of becoming leaders in education.

How to Apply?

Current students already admitted to the School of Education can access the scholarship app directly聽through their .

Incoming undergraduate聽first-year students (applying for Summer and Fall)聽must first complete their admissions application to CU 色吧亚洲, as well as to the School of Education, before accessing the scholarship app. After submitting your application you will need to create a Student ID Number in order to recieve an IdentiKey. Your IdentiKey is what will give you access to the Buff Portal, where you can access the Scholarship Application.聽Follow the steps below to complete this process.

Incoming master鈥檚 graduate students聽will be considered automatically for a handful of聽one-time聽scholarships at the time of admission. Automatic-consideration scholarships for MA students are only available for applicants to the Fall or Summer terms. Details about these specific opportunities can be found on each program page.

Incoming doctoral graduate students聽will receive a generous and supportive funding package, details below.

Continuing graduate students聽can access the scholarship application in every Spring for the following Fall. See step-by-step聽instructions for continuing students.

  1. Submit a CU 色吧亚洲 admissions application
    • In order to access the scholarship application, students must submit an application for admission via either the common app or the transfer app.
    • NOTE: You must declare the School of Education in your CU application in order to access聽School of Education scholarships.
      • An automatic email will be sent to you two days after you submit your CU admissions application to聽with instructions on how to request access to the Scholarship App.
      • Why two days? In order to access the scholarship app, you will need聽a Student ID Number (SID). This takes approximately two business days to generate and to聽be loaded into the scholarship app.
  2. Submit the "Scholarship Application Access Request" form
    • Upon opening the form, you will be able to select 鈥淵es鈥 to request access to the CU 色吧亚洲 Scholarship Application or 鈥淣o鈥 noting you聽do not wish to request access to the Scholarship Application.
      • NOTE: If you accidentally select聽鈥淣o,鈥澛爕ou can log back in to your status page and edit your form response.
      • Upon submitting the form, you will receive a confirmation email, which includes your SID. Within 5-15 minutes, you will receive another email from OIT (Office of Information Technology) with instructions on how to activate your聽IdentiKey.
  3. Log in to Buff Portal聽and complete the Scholarship App
    • After you successfully activate聽your IdentiKey, you will immediately be able to log in to Buff Portal聽and access the Scholarship Application.

Important Dates for聽Scholarships

  • Scholarship applications open: November 1
  • Scholarship applications close: March 15
  • Notification of scholarship offers: Early-mid April
  • Scholarship acceptance deadline: April 24
  • Scholarships posted to student financial aid account: July
  • Scholarships are applied to student tuition bill: August

Financial Aid and Loan Forgiveness

All students are encouraged to apply for need-based financial aid.

Teachers may also be eligible for loan forgiveness programs.


TEACH Colorado Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement

The CU 色吧亚洲 School of Education聽is a partner聽with聽, which聽offers support for prospective teachers plus聽scholarship聽and fee reimbursement opportunities for students enrolled in partner聽teacher preparation programs.聽 TEACH Colorado offers a limited number聽$1,000 scholarships for tuition to teacher education聽programs.聽All eligible submissions will be entered into a random drawing. Individuals who enroll in and begin a partner educator preparation program between Sept. 1, 2020聽and Sept.聽1, 2021 are eligible.

TEACH Colorado also offers up to $100 in reimbursements for applicants to partner educator preparation聽programs for application and enrollment-related fees and expenses. This includes testing and fingerprinting fees associated with applying to teacher education聽programs. Individuals who subscribe to TEACH Colorado before applying to and beginning a partner educator preparation program between Sept. 1, 2020 and Sept. 1, 2021 are eligible.

All TEACH Colorado aid programs require creation of a TEACH account, which includes a聽free, all-access pass to TEACH Colorado tools and services.聽Learn more via .


PhD Program Funding Details聽

All incoming and accepted PhD students will receive a聽generous and supportive聽funding package. A typical package will include a total of a 50% appointment (~20hr/week) through a Graduate Research Assistantship and/or Teaching Assistantship, full tuition remission and a fellowship to assist with student fees, the majority of the聽CU Student Health Gold Insurance Plan, and a stipend of approximately $21,400 per academic year. Please note that these figures are subject to change and summer funding is not guaranteed.
